Pop King Jackson Succumbs To Drug Overdose.

The world was devastated with Pop King Michael Jackson’s sudden death inside his home at Holmby Hills, Los Angeles.Jackson died at age 50 and his demise was blamed on prescription antidepressant drug such as Zoloft, which had reportedly caused Zoloft birth defects. When he died he was reported to have taken Demerol. Drug overdose led to his respiratory and cardiac arrest, according to medical experts.

FDA Publishes Statement About Paxil Birth Defects And Pregnancy

Also known by its generic name paroxetine, Paxil is one of the worlds most widely prescribed antidepressants. Recently Paxil’s Pregnancy category class was updated. In this update Paxil was moved to a category “D” medication instead of a category “C” for use during pregnancy. The update is to reflect a stronger warning about use during early pregnancy as there are chances for birth defects to occur. The drugs that belong to Category “D” have shown higher risks to fetuses in studies of pregnant women. The benefits of the therapy may outweigh the risks in using drugs from this category.

FDA Issued Precaution On Zoloft Use As It Can Cause Weight Loss

Part of its function is to release warnings and precautions to the general public regarding a medication or a certain product.
